Animated-Literacy™ workshops present research, methods, and materials that move students from the earliest stages of literacy to fluency and independence in reading and writing. Instruction is based on current reading, language, and brain research. Sequential instruction and detailed lesson plans are provided in phonological awareness, phonics, vocabulary, comprehension, and writing skills. The lessons incorporate the use of literature, singing, storytelling, movement, drawing, labeling, and manipulatives. Forty-three gestures for teaching the sounds of English are modeled and discussed.
